Delco Music Co.
Student Policy for In-Home Lessons
Lesson Scheduling:
Lessons will be scheduled for the same time and day each week.
Lessons will be conducted in-home or online.
Lesson Duration:
Standard lesson durations are 30, 45, or 60 minutes, determined when signing up. Students can change duration at any time.
It is expected that students are prepared, having done the prior week’s assignments, and ready for the full duration of the lesson.
Attendance and Punctuality:
Students are expected to be punctual for their lessons.
In case of unavoidable delays or cancellations, students must notify their instructor as soon as possible. Students have 60 days to schedule a makeup for missed lessons.
Payment and Fees:
Lessons are billed monthly, on the first of each month. If the student/family gives notice they will be away, they will be charged only for the weeks in which they will be available.
Lessons missed by the student, with short notice, will be credited towards the instructor.
Lesson Materials:
Students are responsible for providing all necessary materials, such as sheet music, instrument, and a chair for the instructor.
Instructors will often bring sheet music, etc. to lessons and will let the family know which materials they may need.
Practice and Preparation:
Students are expected to practice regularly between lessons to progress effectively. Teachers may implement a practice schedule.
Preparation for each lesson is crucial for maximizing learning outcomes. We recommend a minimum average of 30 minutes practice every day.
Behavior and Etiquette:
Students are expected to behave respectfully towards the instructor and treat lesson materials with care.
Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated and may result in termination of lessons.
Parental Involvement:
For young students, parental involvement and support in practicing at home are encouraged to enhance the learning experience.
Health and Safety:
Instructors and students should adhere to health and safety guidelines. If the student is sick, without any notice, the instructor may refuse to teach that day and will be paid for that lesson.
Feedback and Communication:
Students are encouraged to provide feedback to their instructor to enhance the learning experience.
Open communication between students and instructors is key to addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
Students may change instructors at any point, without reason.
Cancelling Lessons:
Lessons may be cancelled at any point. Please let us know before the 1st of the month, as the month charge is not refundable. You may make up those lessons, however.
